The Webster County Board of Supervisors will have a recessed meeting at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
They were to also have a special meeting today to discuss the sheriff and Sheriff’s Department but it has been canceled, according to board President Pat Cummings. Friday’s meeting was already scheduled.
During a recessed meeting Dec. 17, supervisors:
• adopted a resolution urging the state Legislature to pass legislation in the 2019 session that will allow electric power associations to provide high-speed internet service to their members.
• adopted a resolution recognizing the East Webster High School band for earning first place in the Class 2A State Marching Band Championship on Oct. 27.
• adopted a resolution recognizing the Eupora High School cheerleaders for winning the 1A-3A Non-Tumble Varsity Game Day State Championship on Dec. 15.
• voted to put surplus vehicles located at the sheriff’s office up for sale to the highest bidder, including two that were burned as a result of criminal activity.
• voted to remove a non-working Husqvarna chainsaw from the inventory of District 3.
• voted to advertise for the sale of an International loader from District 4.
The Board of Supervisors also has a recessed meeting set for 8:30 a.m. Friday. County offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday for New Year’s.
