In their first meeting of 2020, on Tuesday, January 7 the Louisville Board of Aldermen dealt with a number of routine matters. Capital and recovery projects continue with most having been completed.
Mayor Will Hill reported that the traffic light project should be completed on Tuesday, January 14, as the downtown sidewalk project continues. The Board voted unanimously to authorize payment to Wildstone Construction, in the amount of $13K for work on the project.
Hill added that the plan is to have contractors ready to go to work on the last day of school on the TAP sidewalk project on North Columbus Ave., at the elementary schools, and clean up and painting is ongoing on the old church building on Ivy Ave. at the new park.
In other action, the Board:
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment of Docket of Claims for $73.9K.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to PPM Consultants for $19.7K for professional services through October 2019, and $26K for professional services through November 2019 for work on the EPA Brownfield Project.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment on the 2018 GO BOND for $67K to first National Bank of Clarksdale.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to Watkins, Ward & Stafford for $28K for the 2017-2018 audit.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to Neel-Schaffer for $7.9K ($4.1K for engineering and design of new landfill cell, and $3.8K for semi-annual groundwater sampling).
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to Gregory Companies, LLC dba LandCo Contracting for $53K, for landfill repair project.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to Thompson Machinery for $32.5K for two invoices for landfill equipment repair.
• Voted 5-0 for the appointment of Shelia Hickman to the Louisville Housing Authority for a five-year term beginning on January 1, 2020 and running through January 1, 2025.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize a part-time employee, Lindsay Stevens, for the Animal Control.
