A capacity crowd gathered at the Choctaw County Community Center this past Friday night to celebrate and show appreciation to the county’s first responders. The dinner was organized by the First Responders Committee which includes: Juliette Ashford, Amanda McBride, Donna McKay, Kayla McMinn, Melinda Newlin, Angela Paine, and Nicholas Studdie, and was catered by Sharon James Catering, with entertainment provided by Full Circle Party Band.
According to the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Donna McKay, this was the eighth annual such dinner and it was an opportunity for the community to show its appreciation for the selfless service provided by these men and women.
Law enforcement, fire services, EMS, 9-1-1, 4 County Utilities, and more were represented at the dinner which was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the following: 4 County Electric, Boral Resources, Clark Beverage Group, Inc., Franklin Telephone Co., North American Coal, Kevin Null, Attorney at Law, Southern Company and Walmart of Kosciusko.
