A one-car crash claimed the life of a Eupora man Sunday afternoon in Webster County.
The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 82 near the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mathiston. Sgt. Derrick Beckom, Troop G public affairs officer with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, identified the driver as Ronald G. Gary, 61, of Eupora.
Beckom said Gary was traveling east on U.S. 82 in a 2003 red Chevrolet Trac when he ran off the right (south) side of the highway and overturned.
Gary was pronounced dead at the scene by Webster County Coroner Steve Wells, who said an autopsy will be performed.
This accident remains under investigation by MHP. Also responding were the Webster County Sheriff’s Department, North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora Emergency Medical Services and the Mathiston Fire Department.
