An employee of the landmark Ackerman establishment has been arrested for thefts amounting to $5K. According to Ackerman Police Chief Tim Cook, Savanah Hall, a cook at the iconic restaurant, was placed under arrest this past Monday and a bond of $5K was set.
Cook stated that Pap’s owner, Charles Salley, had suspected someone of taking money going back to October of last year, and decided to install some surveillance cameras. Hall was caught in the act of taking money.
Cook said that if she makes bond she will have an initial appearance in court on January 22; if she is unable to make bond she will be given an appearance within 48 hours.
