The Choctaw County Christmas Parade and Activities is tomorrow, December 5th in downtown Ackerman. The theme is Christmas Through the Decades.
Parade Day Activities include:
Silent Auction: 11am – 5:30pm at Town Hall. Contact Patty Draper if you would like to donate or for more information.
Santa’s Workshop: 3 – 5:30pm at Pap’s Place. This will feature three craft stations, two games, face painting and a chance to meet Santa and take your photo with him. It costs $1 per child to enter.
Food Vendors: 3pm – Until in the Depot Parking Lot. Local school groups will be setup with chili and crackers, cotton candy and a bake sale. These groups are selling food as a fundraiser. The Chamber of Commerce will be selling drinks and popcorn and the Mississippi Lignite Mining Company will be giving away free hot chocolate.
Entertainment: 4:30 – 6pm at the Pavilion. Local choirs, groups and individuals will perform Christmas carols and some of your favorite holiday songs.
Parade: 6pm – The grand finale is the Christmas Parade. The full route is: Begins on Main Street (4-way stop at Commerce Street) travel down Main Street, turn right at 4-way stop onto N. Louisville Street, travel to 4-way stop and turn right onto E. Cherry Street to continue to Ackerman Baptist Church. Parade line up begins at 5:15pm on Main Street near Dewey Street and goes back towards College Street at Choctaw County High School.

Christmas Open House set December 8

The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce invites the public to participate in Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 8th. Christmas Open House will feature special store hours, discounts and more at five local Chamber member businesses.
Christmas Open House will be Sunday, December 8 from noon – 4pm at these six local shops: Barlow Blue, Forget Me Not Florist, Guns & Roses Pawn Shop, Main Street Fabrics and The Posh Pineapple Boutique Salon & Barber Shop. Each participating shop is a Chamber of Commerce member.
Each of these shops will be open special hours on Sunday just for you! They will have Christmas Open House only discounts and more!
As you shop at these participating shops, make sure to enter your name into a drawing for a chance to win $500 in gift certificates. You must make a $10 or more purchase to enter the drawing. The drawing is sponsored by the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce and participating shops.
