The January meeting of Choctaw County School Board began with newly-elected board member taking her oath of office from Judge Andy Stevenson.
The Board received a monthly update report from Choctaw County High School which, according to Superintendent Glen Beard, provides data to help drive instruction and to make improvements. This also helps promote attendance of students and teachers; in the case of high absences the data will help to show if this is due to health issues such as the flu.
In other action, the Board:
• Approved a lengthy consent agenda which included workshops & conferences, field trip requests.
• Approved the financial dockets.
• Went into executive session to take up the superintendent’s evaluation and salary.
The School Board meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
