The Louisville-Winston County Airport board invites everyone to attend the Wings over Winston airshow to be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 9 a.m..
"This will be our biggest and best show yet, with nationally known acts like Steve Covington, Frank Kimmel, Sheriff Roscoe and Hot Wire Harry along with others including “The Immortal Red Baron,” said Louisville/Winston County Airport board member Mike Forster.
The event is free to the public, and along with the aerobatic acts an outstanding array of vintage aircraft will be on display including World War II Era Warbirds such as the famous Corsair.
In addition, all can take a ride with David Mars in his 1929 Curtiss Wright Travel Air open cockpit biplane. Rides are from Friday at noon to the end of day Saturday. Rides are 15 minutes and cost $70.
The gates open at 9 a.m., and the air show starts at 11 a.m. Shuttle service is available from parking lots at the city’s ball fields and Coliseum for $1. Children under 10 ride free.
Food, and refreshments will be available along with souvenir programs and tee shirts.
"We have participants from all over the United States. We do this for the community. It's entertaining to the children. It's entertaining to everyone. They get to see a multitude of different aircraft,” said Forster.
