(March 26) It’s cooler this morning — still a little touch of winter — just enough to remind us that spring has not fully arrived even through the calendar says that is has.
I’m having a slow go getting started this morning. The coffee hasn’t kicked in yet, but a call from my daughter really was a pick-me-up. That’s a treasure I look forward to each day and also the call from our son. They are so faithful in doing that, and it blesses us so much.
The beauty of the pink on the peach trees and the redbuds lift my heart with joy. I’m amazed about the peach tree. Several years ago it appeared in the back yard and I knew we didn’t plant it. Last year it had a few blossoms and this year it is covered in blooms — so beautiful.
I remembered that years and years back after putting up peaches I dumped the seed and peelings there, and after all those years those seed sprouted and began to grow — so small for several years that I didn’t even notice the. Now a big beautiful tree.
There must be a lesson in this for us. Just in our ordinary life maybe we plant a seed of encouragement or something that we do will spring forth and help someone to grow into the person you meant them to be. I know this may be foolishness to some, but I’d rather be foolish for Christ that smart to the world.
So let’s all remember that every tree you see, beautiful or not, came from a seed that was planted in some way — intentionally or unintentionally. How great are the ways of our God!
Hope you all have a great week. I know there is a lot of yard cleaning, grass cutting and getting ready for spring. I miss those days of raking and burning leaves and cutting grass. Enjoy it while you can. It’s work, but it is good work.
My verse today is Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Until next time — God bless you!
