The French Camp tennis team began the season with three victories and a loss. The Panthers defeated
New Hope 5-2, Kosciusko 7-0 and Winona Christian 4-3, but lost to Forest 4-3.
“We have started out very well,” said coach Larry Mincher. “We have some strong competition in the district. But we have a strong group of players. I’m looking forward to how it all pans out.”
1A and 2A are combined in MHSAA tennis. French Camp will compete in a region with Eupora, East Webster and Mississippi School for Math & Science.
The French Camp lineup:
Boys singles – Brennan McGlothin
Girls singles – McKinley Wade
No. 1 boys doubles – Josh Miller and Brady Peacock
No. 2 boys doubles – Jacob Creswell and Andrew Bain
No. 1 girls doubles – Grace Ann Wade and Rainey Peacock
No. 2 girls doubles – Annaleigh Bain and Kate Hudson
Mixed doubles – Cameron McDaniel and Cayley Tiller
Both girls doubles teams and mixed doubles are 4-0.
The Panthers had matches with Grenada and Greenville-St. Joseph Monday and Tuesday.
