Michael Kolb won the Republican nomination for Webster County chancery clerk in Tuesday’s primary runoff election.
He won the Aug. 29 runoff with a 55% margin (942 votes) to Ken Norwood’s 45% (757 votes), according to unofficial results with absentees.
Kolb advances to the Nov. 7 general election against Democratic candidate Regina Dean Reed. The winner will succeed retiring incumbent Russ Turner.
Kolb and Norwood each received about 35% of the vote in the first primary on Aug. 8.
Two other Republican primary runoffs were decided Tuesday because the winners have no opposition in November.
District 3 Supervisor Randy “Poochie” Rico won reelection against challenger Jason Burney. Rico won the runoff with a 53% margin (256 votes) to Burney’s 47% (227 votes).
Rico also led in the first primary with 49% of the vote.
Cody Carden won the Post 1 Justice Court judge seat by a 53% margin (538 votes). Donnie Wofford garnered 47%, or 471 votes.
Carden also led in the first primary with 45% of the vote. He will succeed retiring incumbent Jerry Jones.
The Circuit Clerk’s Office said eight affidavits were to be counted Wednesday — not enough to affect the outcome of any race
The voter turnout Tuesday was about 38%.
