Law enforcement officers Wednesday arrested a Carthage man serving a sentence in a drug case under drug court supervision on new drug charges, according to Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director John Dowdy.
MBN agents arrested James Antwan Moore, of 937 Pine Hill Circle, charging him with aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine and trafficking of MDMA or “ecstasy.”
Moore faces charges that stem from a search of his residence, where agents found approximately one-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine and approximately 160 dosage units of MDMA. The drugs have a combined estimated street value of $60,000, Director Dowdy said.
“Mr. Moore’s arrest follows an investigation of about a year. It is ongoing and we expect to make additional arrests,” Director Dowdy said.
Moore was taken into custody by the 5th Judicial Drug Court in Choctaw County.
MBN led the investigation that resulted in the suspect’s arrest. Assisting the agency were the Leake County Sheriff’s Office, Carthage and Philadelphia police departments, as well as the 5th Judicial Drug Court.
