Prospective job-seekers had an opportunity to meet with employers during a job fair which was held at the Choctaw County Community Center, Tuesday, August 17, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Representatives from Choctaw Reginal Medical Center, Harrison County Sheriff's Office, Louisville WIN Job Center, PACCAR, The Taylor Group, Gibson Steel and Co-Med Healthcare Services were on hand to meet with those seeking employment.
The job fair was sponsored by Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce, WIN Job Center, Governor's Job Fair Network of Mississippi, and the Mississippi Dept. of Employment Security.
Choctaw County in June had a 6.5 Unemployment ratewhihc was the 13th lowest in the state. The state average was 7.6 percent.
