Superintendent James Mason discussed a possible land sale with the Webster County School Board at a previous meeting.
July 17 meeting minutes state Mason mentioned to the board the possibility of selling a small parcel of land located adjacent to the East Webster Elementary School campus.
The superintendent was to speak to Board Attorney Jim Keith about the matter and report back to the board about the best way to go about this, according to the minutes. No action was taken.

Other Business
In other business July 17, minutes show the board approved a recommendation from Mason that Ashley Staten be approved as a substitute teacher, effective Aug. 1.
The superintendent also presented a recommendation from Lauren Smith, principal of Eupora Elementary, that James Payton be hired as maintenance worker at EES, effective July 18. The board approved the recommendation.
Mason recommended the board approve an agreement with C Spire to install a booster tower on the campus of Eupora High School. The board approved the recommendation.
Board members voted separately on two items that were pulled from the consent agenda. One was a recommendation from Leigh Johnson, special education director, for Gina Sanderson to provide psychoeducational evaluations for the district as an independent education evaluator as needed. The board approved the recommendation 4-0; Gabby Davis (District 5) abstained.
The other was a recommendation from Mason to approve fundraisers for Eupora Elementary School and East Webster Elementary School. After some discussion, the board voted 5-0 to approve the recommendation, minutes state.
The board also approved financial reports and the docket of claims.
A budget hearing was held before the July 17 meeting. The board was to meet again Aug. 14 and its next meeting is at 6 p.m. Sept. 11.
