A Maben woman and her unborn child died last week in an Oktibbeha County crash that injured four other children.
Makayla Lynn Coggins, 23, and her unborn child suffered fatal injuries shortly before 3:30 p.m. May 31 in a crash on U.S. 82 at Turner Road in Center Grove.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Coggins was headed east when she lost control of her 2006 Ford Expedition, ran off the left side of the highway and overturned in the median.
Four other children in the vehicle with Coggins suffered moderate injuries. According to a social media post by a family friend, two of the children who had been hospitalized were released Saturday.
Services were Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in West Point.
