In a regular meeting, held on Tuesday, March 2, the Ackerman Board of Aldermen unanimously approved an electrical service connection request form, which requires final approval by a city inspector or representative of the town before being able to connect permanent service. This request will apply to permanent structures as well as manufactured structures.
In an informational item, the Board was informed that the town had failed to record the deed for the Governor’s Park when it was built, but the deed was recorded last week.
Toby Sanford of Golden Triangle Planning & Development met with the Board to discuss the census and the possibility of redistricting. The Board voted unanimously to allow GTPDD to work with redistricting efforts if needed.
In other action, the Board:
• Voted 5-0 to approve payment to poll workers and election commissioners for the upcoming June election.
• Voted 5-0 to approve a budget amendment dealing with a $10K, 4-County grant to Ackerman Police Department for the purchase of radios.
