In a regular meeting, held on Tuesday, February 2, the Ackerman Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to approve the use of a derelict house, located at 139 Seward Street, in a training exercise for the Ackerman Fire Department, on Saturday, February 20.
Mayor Tim Cutts reported that the exercise will involve county fire departments, as well.
In other action, the Board:
• Voted 5-0 to approve registration and travel for the MML Conference, in Biloxi, MS, in July.
• Voted 5-0 to purchase a computer server, for the town, at at cost of $3K.
• Voted 5-0 to to allocate $2K for repairs at Tom Glasgow Park.
• Voted 5-0 to allocate $4K for the Summer Youth Baseball program.
• Voted 5-0 to accept Chris Robinson’s resignation as an auxiliary police officer.
The Ackerman Board of Aldermen meets on the first Tuesday of each month, at 5:30 p.m.
