Louisville is still searching for its first baseball win of the season this year as the Wildcats have started 0-5 thanks to two losses to strong competition on Friday and Saturday.
Hosting Heritage Academy and Neshoba Central on the weekend, the Wildcats were overmatched at the plate and on the mound as the two teams combined to take down LHS 34-1. The Patriots started off on Friday night by taking the 17-1 win and the Rockets followed with a 17-0 victory on Saturday.
This week Class 4A, Region 4 play will begin on Tuesday when the Wildcats will host Northeast Lauderdale. It’s a chance to get the first win of the season and to get off on the right foot in district play as the Trojans come in 1-6 on the season. They will also go on the road to take on Northeast on Friday night at 7 p.m. sandwiched between a Thursday game at home against West Point at 7 p.m. and a Saturday home game against the Morton Panthers at 11 a.m.
Louisville is also scheduled to take on Neshoba Central at 3 p.m. on that same day in Philadelphia.
