Gerald and Becky McGinnis of Weir announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mia Brooke to Thomas Gage Bates, son of late Sonny Bates and Michele Bates of Weir. The bride elect is the granddaughter of Billy and the late Dorothy King of Weir and Gary and Connie McGinnis of Bloomington, IL. She is a 2016 graduate of Choctaw County High School and a current student of Mississippi University for Women.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Willie and Margerite Bates of Weir and Buck and Nell Burrell of Durant. He is a 2016 graduate of Choctaw County High School and presently employed by Choctaw County Beat 3.
Wedding vows will be exchanged at New Haven Baptist Church in Weir on March 16, 2019 at 5:00 pm. The couple is registered at Belk, Walmart, Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Dabbs Pharmacy and Sullivans Pharmacy.
