A Webster County man found himself in some trouble after he attempted to run from deputies with the Choctaw County Sherif’s Department.
Brenden Scott Devers, 21, has been charged with felony fleeing, malicious mischief, willfull trespassing, and false identification. Sheriff Brandon Busby said deputies were conducting an investigation on Devers and a juvenile female who were at Bluff Springs Church on Bluff Springs Road when Devers ran.
He said the chase went down Crow Crossing Road to a bridge that was out. Devers then ran on foot and Busby said his deputies chased after him through a swampy area. He said Devers was then taken into custody where he is still currently as he awaits a bond.
But, those aren’t the only charges Devers may be facing. Busby said Devers also faces charges with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and from individual land owners. This case is also still under investigation. More information on this case will also be released when it is available.
