The Nanih Waiya basketball teams managed to split a pair of games last week.
Nanih Waiya swept a pair of games from French Camp as the Lady Warriors won 58-22 and the Warriors won 59-19.
In their other contest, both teams lost to Velma Jackson as the Lady Warriors fell 52-23 and the Warriors dropped a tight 43-38 contest.
Nanih Waiya was scheduled to wrap up the regular season this week as they play Ethel on Tuesday and then finish out with a short road trip to Noxapater.
Nanih Waiya girls 58, French Camp 22
The Lady Warriors enjoyed senior night as they took a 36-point win over the Lady Panthers.
Nanih Waiya led 9-3 at the end of the first and then outscored French Camp 10-9 in the second to lead 19-12 at the half. The Lady Warriors then pulled away in the second half and outscored French Camp 23-4 in the third and 16-6 in the fourth.
Jasmine Hickman led Nanih Waiya with 19 points while Zandy Eiland had 15 points. Nyshea Hoskin had seven points in limited action while Ky Spivey had six points.
Nanih Waiya boys 59, French Camp 19
The Warriors dominated the first half and cruised to a 40-point win over the Panthers.
Nanih Waiya led 16-2 at the end of the first and 33-5 at the half. The Warriors continued to extend their lead in the second half by outscored French Camp 17-7 in the third and 10-7 in the fourth.
Preston Prewitt led French Camp with 19 points while Sameer Hughes and Jaqurious Hughes each had eight points apiece.
Velma Jackson girls 52, Nanih Waiya 23
The Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Warriors in every period and pulled away to take a 29-point win.
Velma outscored Nanih Waiya 13-5 in the first and 13-7 in the second to lead 26-12 at the half. Velma continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring the Lady Warriors 14-7 in the third and 12-4 in the fourth.
Jasmine Hickman led Nanih Waiya with eight points while Isabella Cotton, Zandy Eiland and Ky Spivey each had five points apiece.
Velma Jackson boys 43, Nanih Waiya 38
The Warriors weren’t able to hold onto an early lead as the Falcons rallied to take a five-point win.
Nanih Waiya led 17-7 at the end of the first while Velma Jackson took the second period 12-9 to cut the lead to 26-19 at the half. Velma outscored Nanih Waiya 11-7 in the third to cut the lead to 33-30 going to the fourth. The Falcons then pulled away and outscored the Warriors 13-5 to take the win.
Conner Hickman led Nanih Waiya with 14 points while Jaqurious Hughes had nine points and Preston Prewitt added eight points.
