The Town and Country Garden Club met April 22, 2021 after several month of not meeting due to the pandemic.. President Diane Luke welcomed everyone. Mrs. Diane Dempsey gave an inspiration on "I am good, I am blessed, I can do anything." Mrs. Dale Shumaker gave the Treasurer's report after donations to the MSU Scho lar ship, Governor's Mansion Landscape and Horticulture School. A motion to send the normal donation to the State Headquarters in Greenwood was made by Mrs. Elaine Thompson and seconded by Noneen Keene.
The Horticulture sample was presented by Mrs. Elaine Thompson. It was an unusual pink peonies. Mrs. Debbie Moody made the design. It consisted of small pots of plants that you might have before planting. Her design was in a long container with dusty miller, ferns and white star flowers.
President Diane Luke reminded everyone of the State Convention in Hernando, MS on May 10 -12, then the District Meeting in Forest, MS on June 8, She must know who is attending by May 28 and it will be $20.00 for each attending.
President Luke appointed a nominating committee for the new officers for the next two years. This Comm itt ee consist of Debbie moody, Patricia Holton and Sandra Culwell. It was decided that we would vote by phone sinc e installation will beat our May meeting at the home of Mrs. Marie Shaw. We will also have a plant swap.
We also have a discussion of memorials for two of our pass members, Mrs. Bobbye Mills and Mrs. Francis Ball. This will be decided at a future meeting.
Everyone then enjoyed a delicious cake and other treats made by our hostesses, Mrs. Debbie Moody and Mrs. Diane Luke. The door prizes were two adorable potted plants won by Mrs. Dale Shumaker and Mrs. Diane Dempsey. The meeting adjourned.
