The Noxapater baseball team stayed unbeaten as they picked up two wins over Central Holmes last week.
The Tigers beat the Trojans 4-1 on Tuesday and 10-4 on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Lady Tigers lost 20-1 to West Point and 14-2 to Starkville.
The Tigers were scheduled those Philadelphia on Monday and play at Louisville on Tuesday and at West Lowndes on Thursday. They will return home and host Louisville on Friday to round out the week.
The Lady Tigers only have one game scheduled this week, a Thursday contest at home against Starkville.
Noxapater baseball
The Tigers took a pair of wins last week, beating Central Holmes 4-1 and 10-4.
On Tuesday, the Tigers hosted Central Holmes and held the Trojans to two hits in a three-run win. Noxapater trailed 1-0 through four innings but scored four in the fifth inning to take the win. The Tigers had five hits as Braxton Daughtery was 2-for-3 while Luke Reynolds singled and stole three bases. Corbin Stapleton also singled and scored. Brady Ellison started and pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up one run on two hits and two walks while striking out six. Bryton Yates pitched the last 2 2/3 innings and didn’t allow a hit or run and struck out five to pick up the win.
On Friday, the Tigers scored in five of the seven inning and took advantage of seven errors to take the six-run win. Noxapater had 11 hits in the contest as Luke Reynolds was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Bryton Yates was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Logan Sanborn was also 2-for-3. Corbin Stapleton was also 2-for-5 and scored two runs. Daughtery started and pitched three innings, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks. Zach Lloyd and Brody Joiner each pitched two innings apiece for the Tigers.
Noxapater softball
The Lady Tigers dropped both contests last week, falling 20-1 to West Point and 14-2 to Starkville.
On Tuesday, West Point scored two in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and finished with eight in the fifth for the run-rule win. West Point outhit Noxapater 15-3 in the contest. Aliyah McCool, Kenzie Harrell and Corabella Papalambros each had singles for the Lady Tigers. Isabella Richardson started and pitched 2 2/3 innings while McCool and R’dayshia Riddle each got time on the mound for the Lady Tigers.
On Friday, the Lady Tigers issued 10 walks as Starkville took a 14-2 win. Noxapater scored two in the top of the first but Starkville answered with three in the first and third, six in the second and two in the fourth. Noxapater had six hits as Emma Cremeen was 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored while Aliyah McCool also doubled. Karlee Sullivan also singed and drove in two runs. Isabella Richardson started on the mound while Aliyah McCool and R’dayshia Riddle each pitched for the Lady Tigers.
