French Camp had three players make the 6-1A all-division team, which was recently released by the division coaches.
Quarterback Logan Wright along with J.D. Leach and Rylan Moore were all named to the first team while J.J. Walker, Max McCoy, Hunter Buntyn and Ryder Henderson were honorable mention selections.
Wright led the Panthers in both rushing and passing yards this past season. He threw for 683 yards on 51-of-114 passing with five TDs. He rushed for 1,029 yards on 156 carries with 10 TDs.
Leach and Moore helped anchor the offensive and defensive lines for the Panthers. Leach had 34 tackles on defense while Moore had 23 tackles.
Among the honorable mention picks, Henderson had a solid year with 755 yards rushing 156 carries with five TDs while J.J. Walker had 14 catches for 296 yards and three TDs.
Henderson was second on the team with 68 tackles with two interceptions and three fumble recoveries. Walker also had 50 tackles while McCoy had 49 stops. Buntyn also had 35 tackles for the Panthers.
The Division 6-1A Offensive player of the Year was Velma Jackson sophomore Trevon Willis who threw for 1,394 yards and 15 TDs while rushing for 1,016 yards and 14 yards. The 6-1A Defensive player of the year was Velma’s Tyshun Willis., who also led the team in rushing with 1,035 yards and 14 TDs. On defense, Williams recorded 70 tackles and an astonishing 46 tackles for loss along with 18 sacks and six fumble recoveries.
Ethel’s Jordan Martinez was named the Special team’s player of the year.
