Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored.
This weeklong event, April 11-17 was initially set up in 1981. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. It’s a week that is set aside so everyone can be made aware of their hard work and dedication.
Jimmy McLemore, 911 director and director of communications for Webster County, commented on how proud he is of the Webster County 911 staff and dispatchers that provide sincere professional care and assistance to citizens of Webster County.
"Each and every day, these certified dispatchers constantly train and attend in-service education classes to learn more and better ways to offer help and assistance to those in need. These are the most dedicated and caring people I have ever worked with," McLemore stated. "As we use this week to honor these trained professionals, please take a few minutes to offer them a sincere thank you for the service they provide to all citizens of our community."
And as always, remember that Webster County 911 Center and its staff are always there for you.
