Maben Garden Club assists with reception honoring Miles

The Maben Christmas Parade was held Dec. 2 and was preceded by a gala reception in honor of Jim Miles, the grand marshal.

The reception was held in the FJH. Inc. building on the corner of Webster Street and Main Street (Second Avenue).

The marker commemorates Greensboro as the first county seat, 1834-72, for Choctaw County. The Old Choctaw County Chapter installed and dedicated the marker in 2012.

DAR honors veterans buried at Old Greensboro Cemetery

The Old Choctaw County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored veterans buried at the Old Greensboro Cemetery in observance of Veterans Day.

Over 50 American flags were placed by the headstones of those who have served our country.
