Nanih Waiya makes a clean sweep on the diamond

The Nanih Waiya baseball team continued its strong start with three wins this past week.

The Warriors took a pair of blowout wins to start the week, winning 13-1 over West Lowndes on Tuesday and 15-1 over Noxapater on Friday. They finished the week on Saturday with a 7-6 walk-off win over Sebastopol.

Noxapater split with Winona, hold Louisville to one

The Noxapater Lady Tigers finally got the softball season kicked off last week with three games.

The Lady Tigers took two of three contests ads they opened with a 13-1 win over Louisville on Thursday. On Friday, they beat Winona 16-0 in the first game of a doubleheader but lost 12-8 in the nightcap.

Lady Tigers defeat McAdams to take district

After struggling with McAdams during the regular season, the Noxapater Lady Tigers saved their best effort for the 6-1A championship game.

The lady Tigers built an early lead and used a pair of double-double efforts to take a 57-42 win over McAdams on Friday night to claim the 6-1A title.
