Monthly sales tax collections released

Sales tax revenue numbers that reflect January sales are in from the Mississippi Department of Revenue for local municipalities.

MDR collects 81.5% of the 7% sales tax from municipalities and distributes the remaining 18.5% back to the municipalities over a three-month cycle.

CRMC could receive $799,000 in funding if bill is approved

Last Tuesday, the Mississippi Legislature approved $103.7 million grant program to be split among several hospitals in the state and Choctaw County Regional Hospital is in the number.

According to the report, from Mississippi Today, the hospital is set to receive $799,222 in grant funding.

Eupora New Century Club members filled eggs at their March meeting for the upcoming Community Easter Egg Hunt, which will be at 10 a.m. April 8 at Gary Park on Hall Road.

Activities will include egg hunts, games, inflatables and face painting.
