Golf scramble set in Aug.

All proceeds from an upcoming golf scramble will benefit the Eupora High School baseball team.

The EHS Baseball Booster Club will sponsor the three-man scramble, which will be Aug. 14-15 at the Webster County Recreation Association/Eupora Country Club.

Noxapater officials take the oath

Tuesday evening, July 6, the Noxapater Mayor and new Noxapater Baord Of Aldermen along with a few well wishers were on hand at the Noxapater Town Hall, as the newly-elected town leaders officially took the Oath of Office, as administered by Judge David Wilson.

Sammy Carter who was reelected unopposed took the oath office first.

County’s unemployment rate increases

Webster County’s unemployment rate went up two-tenths of a percentage point during May, according to preliminary numbers from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.

Webster County’s rate stood at 5.9% during May, up from 5.7% in April. Unemployment stood at 8.8% in May 2020.
