Boil-water alert issued for city water system

The city of Eupora has issued a boil-water alert for its entire water system.

The notice, which was issued Friday afternoon following a break in the city’s main water line, was to remain in effect until further notice. Water was restored that evening.

WCSB approves administrators, department heads

County’s unemployment rate increases

Choctaw County’s unemployment rate increased 1.7 percentage points during January, according to preliminary numbers from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.

Choctaw County’s rate stood at 4.6% during January, compared to 2.9% in December and 5.4% in January 2021.
