USDA emergency support available to area producers

Secretary of Agriculture Thomas J. Vilsack has designated two Mississippi counties as the primary natural disaster areas.

Producers in Clay and Lowndes counties who suffered losses caused by Drought (Fast Track), beginning on Nov. 7 may be eligible for U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency emergency loans.

Gas prices rise by 3.7 cents across state

Average gasoline prices in Mississippi have risen 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.67/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 2,014 stations in Mississippi. Prices in Mississippi are 3.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 48.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Nanih Waiya Attendance Center has the highest graduation rate
