The iD 8 Hackathon, a mobile app development hackathon, is designed to broaden participation in computing by promoting computer science skills among African-American high school girls. During the two-day event, teams used Code.org’s App Lab platform to design and code their own apps and heard talks from a lineup of inspiring speakers.
