Fire destroys house in Mathiston

Mathiston Fire Department was paged by Webster 911 to an active structure fire at a residence on Cherry Road at 1:03 a.m. Feb. 23.

At arrival, heavy flames and smoke were coming from the garage area of the structure. Firefighters quickly began battling the blaze and water shuttle operations were initiated.
