CCHS boys, girls finish second in region track meet

IUKA – The Choctaw County boys and girls track teams both finished second behind Noxubee County at the 4-3A district meet.

In the boys meet, Noxubee had 156 points, Choctaw County 94, Houston 38, Hatley 30 and Aberdeen 17. For the girls, it was Noxubee 149, Choctaw County 89, Hatley 48, Houston 40 and Aberdeen 10.

Chargers enjoy successful week on baseball diamond

Choctaw County won its first two Region 4-3A games of the season in a doubleheader sweep of Noxubee County 15-0 and 22-0. Both games lasted three innings.

In a non-region game last week, the Chargers pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth for a 4-3 victory over Oak Hill Academy.

Lady Chargers set to host Houston, Noxubee County

Choctaw County had a rough time on the softball diamond last week with losses to Noxapater 14-13, Hatley 14-1 and Houston 18-0. Hatley and Houston are Region 4-3A games.

Jewell records 79 to lead CCHS golfers

Led by Conner Jewell, Choctaw County finished fourth in a seven-team boys golf match at Starkville County Club with a team score of 395. Jewell shot a team-leading 79.
