Mrs. Opal Lee, known as the grandmother of Juneteenth Day, made a visit to Washington, D. C. to be present as President Joe Biden signed the long awaited bill to declare Juneteenth the 12th Federal Holiday after the senate unanimously passed it and the house passed it by a vote of 415 – 14 (14 Republicans voted against it).
