Shuster throws five innings of one-run ball, Michael Harris II goes 3-for-4 with 3 RBI
PEARL, MS - On Sunday, April 10, the M-Braves rode five innings of one-run ball from LHP Jared Shuster and MLB Pipeline’s No. 1 Atlanta prospect Michael Harris II recorded 3 RBI to best the Biscuits for the first win of the season.
Shuster, Atlanta’s No. 10 prospect, struck out five with only one walk. The left-hander combined his fastball and changeup well, often striking out hitters with the changeup.
The M-Braves took the lead with a 2-run single from Harris II in the second.
In the third inning, the M-Braves notched seven base hits and four runs to take a 6-1 lead. Harris II, Trey Harris and Drew Lugbauer all recorded an RBI in the inning.
Harris II went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, a walk and a stolen base.
Lugbauer extended the lead with a one-run single in the eighth. The first baseman now has a home run and four RBI through the first three games of the season.
Five M-Braves finished with multi-hit games. Harris went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Jalen Miller went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Hendrik Clementina smacked three hits and scored two runs. Jesse Franklin V reached base five times, walking four times.
RHP Coleman Huntley III and LHP Jake Higginbotham combined for four innings of one-run baseball to close out the game.
Mississippi gets a day off tomorrow before a six-game road series against the Biloxi Shuckers. On April 19, the M-Braves return to Trustmark Park for a six-game homestand against the Chattanooga Lookouts.
