As the basketball season nears completion, coaches are hoping their teams are ready for postseason play.
That’s certainly the case for East Webster.
The East Webster boys won two of three games this week, beating Northside 51-45 and J.Z. George 77-65 before falling to Louisville 57-55 on Saturday.
East Webster will return to action on Monday as they travel to Oak Hill Academy in West Point and will host Leflore County on Friday to finish Division 2-2A play.
“I thought the Louisville game was a good measure for our boys,” East Webster coach Jon Ginn said. “The last time we lost was in our Christmas Tournament and they beat us by 13 there. To have a chance to beat them shows how far we have come. We handled their pressure a whole lot better and defended better.”
The Wolverines are now 15-7 on the season and 4-0 in 2-2A play.
