East Webster’s baseball season came to an end last week in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs.
After splitting the first two games with New Site, the Wolverines lost 5-3 to the Royals on Tuesday as their season came to an end.
East Webster finishes the season with an 18-7 record.
The Royals scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take game 3 of their series on Tuesday.
New Site scored one in the first, fourth and fifth while East Webster scored single runs in the third, fourth and fifth to tie the game at 3-3. New Site then scored two runs in the sixth and held in the seventh to take the win.
East Webster outhit New Site 8-4 but committed four errors in the field.
Cameron Pilgrim was 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs while Sloan Hillhouse was 2-for-3. Hastings Gibson doubled and drove in a run while John Wesley Hardin scored twice and had two stolen bases.
John Austin Roberts, Hillhouse, Will Gaskin and Gray McCarter all pitched for East Webster.
