The East Webster Wolverines are just one game away from winning the Division 2-2A title.
The Wolverines hammered Leflore County 15-0 and 16-0 in a division doubleheader on Tuesday and then dropped a 10-6 decision to New Hope on Thursday in their other action.
East Webster moves to 15-6 on the season and will take on Bruce in a two-game series with Game 1 on Monday at Bruce and Game 2 on Tuesday at East Webster. The Wolverines just need to win one of the two games with Bruce to win the Division 2-2A championship. The Wolverines will travel to Oak Hill on Thursday.

The Wolverines took advantage of 13 walks and six errors to take four-inning, run-rule win over Leflore County on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first inning, East scored two in the second and three in the third. East finished off Leflore with 10 runs in the fourth inning.
East Webster had just six hits in the contest as Conner Shurden was 2-for-2 with two doubles and three runs scored. Luke McKee was 2-for-3 with a double. Clay Neal drew three walks while Kainan Reed, Jesse Roberts and Kendell Carden each drew two walks. Roberts, Neal and Gray McCarter each scored twice.
East Webster had nine stolen bases while Carden, Neal and Shurden each had two stolen bases.
East Webster sent four pitchers to the mound as Will Gaskin, Reed, Art Thompson and Wes Silver each pitched one inning apiece. Gaskin and Thompson struck out two while Silver struck out three.

The Wolverines used a 12-run fourth inning to take a three-inning, run-rule win over the Panthers in Game 2 of the doubleheader on Tuesday.
East Webster scored one in the first and three in the second.
East Webster had just seven hits and drew 10 walks and three errors. Walker Johnson was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored while Ethan Roberts and Cameron Pilgrim each drove in two runs. Dalton Perrigin and Jon Austin Roberts each drew two walks and had two stolen bases.
Three East Webster pitchers combined on a perfect game as Walker Johnson, Gray McCarter and Sloan Hillhouse each pitched one inning apiece and struck out three batters apiece.

New Hope used a steady supply of offense to take a four-run win over the Wolverines on Thursday.
New Hope scored single runs in the first, second and sixth innings while scoring two in the third and fourth and three in the seventh. East Webster scored one in the third and five in the fifth.
East had five hits in the contest as Jon Austin Roberts was 2-for-2 with a home run and two runs scored. Wes Silver had a home run and drove in three runs while J.T. Slay had a single and drove in a run.
