Louisville fell 11-0 to Madison Central last Monday. The Wildcats responded with an 11-run performance against Heritage Academy, but a late Heritage Academy RBI propelled the Patriots to a 12-11 win.
Louisville shook off its two early week losses to pick up an 8-4 home win against Rosa Fort in the first round of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs. Rosa Fort took a 21-20 win in Game 2 on Tuesday, then followed that up with a 17-16 win to win the series.
Dre Shumaker was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI in the win Saturday. Roper Stoots went 2-for-4 with a run.
The Wildcats tallied five runs on six Rosa Fort errors. Deontae Yarbrough and Nicholas Jackson hit doubles, and Louisville stole nine bases. Shemar Eiland was responsible for three swiped bags.
"We played through some adversity Saturday and pulled out a win," Louisville coach Kylie Ming said. "We had trouble doing that all year."
SOFTBALL
The Lady Wildcats concluded their season with a 13-3 loss at East Webster last Tuesday. Louisville ended the year 2-12.
Injuries and less-than-ideal participation this year equaled a rocky season, which the Lady Wildcats will look to build on next year.
Grace Christian set to play twice this week

Grace Christian had a loss, a rain out and a cancellation last week.
The Eagles were defeated by Meridian Home School 10-0. A game with Discovery Home School was rained out and a game with Noxubee County was canceled.
The bright spot against Meridian Home School was Grant Borntrager. He had the Eagles' only hit and fanned nine in five innings.
Grace Christian played Golden Triangle Home School Tuesday and has a home game with Meridian Home School Thursday.
