The Nanih Waiya golf team recently finished up another successful season on the links. The Warriors recently finished third in the Class 1A-2A championship played at Old Waverly in West Point. The event was hosted by Tupelo Christian.
The Warriors shot a two-day total of 706 to finish in third place as Baldwyn took first with a score of 688 while TCPS was second with a score of 691.
Nanih Waiya’s Jake Kight, who signed to play college golf at the University of Memphis, was second overall in the event as he shot a two-day total of 143 with rounds of 70 and 73. Walnut’s Kyn Marks was the medalist at the event with a two-day score of 140 with rounds of 67 and 73.
Also scoring for the Warriors were Cody Clark who had a two-day total of 175 with scores of 88 and 87 while Braxton Stokes had a two-day total of 188 with scores of 98 and 90. Coley Taylor was fourth with a two-day total of 200 with scores of 102 and 98. Trey McMullan also participated for the Warriors as he shot a 234 with scores of 118 and 116. The four best scores count to the team overall score.
