VARDAMAN -- The French Camp baseball season ended when the Panthers were sept by Vardaman in the doubleheader Monday, 4-0 and 5-2
French Camp won the opening game of the best of three series at home last Saturday, 11-1.
The opening game was scoreless for three innings. French Camp scored three runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and four more in the sixth to end the game under the 10-run rule. Vardaman managed only one hit and scored its run in the fifth.
French Camp qualified for the playoffs by finishing third in Region 5-1A. Vardaman was second in 6-1A.
Vardaman will play Salem or Leake County in a second round series scheduled to begin Thursday.
Grace Christian set to play twice this week

Grace Christian had a loss, a rain out and a cancellation last week.
The Eagles were defeated by Meridian Home School 10-0. A game with Discovery Home School was rained out and a game with Noxubee County was canceled.
The bright spot against Meridian Home School was Grant Borntrager. He had the Eagles' only hit and fanned nine in five innings.
Grace Christian played Golden Triangle Home School Tuesday and has a home game with Meridian Home School Thursday.
