The Noxapater baseball team managed to squeeze in two games during the spring break week and lost both games.
The Tigers started off with a 5-1 loss to Forest and then lost 12-1 to Choctaw Central on Tuesday.
Noxapater, now 2-6 on the season, will return to action this week as they begin division play and will travel to West Lowndes on Tuesday and then host the Panthers on Friday in their only scheduled action.
Forest 5, Noxapater 1
The Tigers only had two hits as the Bearcats took a four-run win on Monday.
Forest scored three in the third and two in the fourth for their runs while Noxapater had one run in the sixth.
Ethan Easley had an RBI single for Noxapater that scored Hunter Johnson. Riley Jones had Noxapater’s other hit. Nick Stone and Dalton Keen each walked twice.
Hunter Johnson got the start on the mound and pitched all six innings, giving up five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight.
Choctaw Central 12, Noxapater 1
The Tigers struggled at the plate again, managing only two hits against Choctaw Central on Tuesday in a run-rule loss.
Choctaw scored three in the first and second inning and added five in the third and one in the fourth. Noxapater scored its only run in the fourth.
Landon Bailey singled and scored for the Tigers while Nick Stone had an RBI single.
