FULTON – Sophomore pitcher Bailie Springfield was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Pitcher of the Week.
The Delta State transfer went 2-0 on the week in an 8-0 win over Bevill State (Ala.) Community College in five innings and a 10-1 win over Jackson State (Tenn.) Community College in five innings. Springfield stuck out 12 batters, scattered eight hits and walked two while only allowed one run over nine innings of work in two games.
Springfield, a former East Webster standout, will eligible for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Pitcher of the Week.
After Wednesday's doubleheader with Snead State (Ala.) Community College was postponed, The Indians' next games are scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jackson State.
