Former Choctaw County High School standout Ja’Marcus Bradley closed out his University of Louisiana football career in spectacular fashion on Monday night, catching seven passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns as the Ragin’ Cajuns closed out an 11-3 campaign with a 27-17 win over Miami (Ohio) in the Lendingtree Bowl played in Mobile, Ala.
Bradley’s two touchdown receptions gave the redshirt senior 10 for the season and 23 for his career, leaving him as No. 2 on the list, only two behind all-time great Brandon Stokley. For the season the 6-foot-1,195-pound Bradley had 60 catches for 906 yards.

NO VOLLEYBALL FOR FCA
French Camp Academy will not add volleyball to replace slow-pitch softball as an interscholastic sport for girls next season. Athletic director Rusty McKnight said the school will not make any additions for the 2020-21 school year.
The Mississippi High School Activities Association has discontinued slow-pitch due to the declining number of competing schools. Twenty-six member schools have been approved to add volleyball.

MSU WOMEN RANKED NO. 13
The Mississippi State University women’s basketball team responded to back-to-back losses by ripping off six straight wins, including two straight SEC wins to open league play.
The winning streak helped the Bulldogs climb to No 13 in the Associated Press poll released on Monday. MSU, now 14-2 overall and 2-0 in the SEC, is set to visit Missouri on Thursday in a game that will be shown on the SEC Network beginning at 6 p.m. After that contest the ‘Dogs will have a week off before hosting LSU on Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Humphrey Coliseum at 7 p.m.
Jordan Danberry has been a real spark plug for MSU, scoring 21 points to go with eight assists and four steals in the Bulldogs’ 93-47 win over Florida last Thursday, and hit for 17 in a 73-66 road win over Georgia on Sunday.
Freshman Rickea Jackson score 20 against Florida and 17 against Georgia. Danberry leads MSU in scoring a 13.8 points per game, while sophomore Jessika Carter is averaging 13.3 points and 10-3 boards and Jackson 13.1 points.

EAGLES’ HEALTH IMPROVING
The Grace Christian School boys basketball team is getting healthy for the stretch run of the season according to Morgan, who also serves as boys coach. Brothers Asher and Jacob Hogue have returned to the lineup following wrist injuries and Wes Agnew is expected back shortly from an ankle injury.
“When we have everybody and play to the best of our ability, I think we have a very good ball team,” Morgan said.
The Eagles and Lady Eagles of Grace Christian School were set to play Laurel Home School Tuesday. The boys team has a home game with Lakeview Baptist Academy of Tupelo Friday.
