Louisville begins the MHSA Class 4A State Football Playoffs on Friday at R.E. Hinze Stadium by hosting a familiar foe. Their first opponent is Yazoo City, a team they beat 49-0 earlier in the year.
Yazoo City has won just two games all year but both were conference wins which landed them in the playoffs. Shorter is warning his team not to let the record fool them or the fact that they beat them 49-0 earlier in the year.
“Watching their last two ball games of the year, they’re playing good football right now. They always have some talent, I just think we hit them so fast the last time. That was early in the year and everybody has gotten better. They’re a different team so we’re going to treat that game like we haven’t played them.”
A win for the Wildcats will have them matched up with the winner of North Pontotoc and Pontotoc next week.
