The Wolverines of East Webster will put their unbeaten record on the line when they travel to Calhoun City on Friday night.
The Wildcats are 3-3 on the season, with wins over Ashland (55-0), Choctaw County (24-21) and Water Valley (14-7). Their losses are to Houston (33-7), North Panola (26-8) and North Pontotoc (7-6).
“I don’t care what their record is, they are still Calhoun City and have dominated this division,” EW head football coach Ron Price said. “Every opponent has had a difficult time scoring on them. We know we will have our hands full moving the ball on them. We have to have a great week of preparation. For the fourth straight week, we will be playing in a big game. I want the kids to enjoy that and hopefully we can go out and find a way to win.”
Last year, Calhoun City beat East Webster 35-6.

Philadelphia, Taylorsville, and Scott Central — all 5-1 on the season — hold the top three spots in the rankings. Bay Springs, 6-0, is No. 4, while 3-3 Charleston is No. 5.
n the Little 10, which comprises all MAIS schools and MHSAA schools Class 3A or smaller, Philadelphia is No 3, Taylorsville No. 7 and Bay Springs No. 9. Columbia, a Class 3A team, is at the top of the list. Madison Central at 5-0 and Picayune (5-0) are the top two teams in the overall Top 10 rankings.

EUPORA OPENS LEAGUE PLAY
The Eagles of Eupora High School will open up Division play this week as they travel to Bruce.
The Trojans are 3-3 on the season and have won two straight games. They have wins over Vardaman (34-0), South Pontotoc (36-24) and Potts Camp (49-6). Their losses are to Nettleton (27-0), North Pontotoc (42-6) and Water Valley (48-0).
“They have a big tailback and some big guys up front,” Eupora head coach Stephen Edwards said. “They are going to run the ball right at you. We will have our hands full up front. I know we will have to play hard for four quarters. We just have to keep plugging and get our kids to believe that we can play with them. The good thing is everybody is 0-0 at this point in the season.”
