When a team runs for 339 yards against the defending state champion, there's one thing for certain. The big guys up front are doing their job, a sometimes thankless task of opening holes for the runners who get all the glory.
That's exactly what transpired when Choctaw County defeated Water Valley 35-28 in the second round of the MHSAA 3A playoffs. “They had a really good night,” coach Jeff Roberts said. “They did everything we asked.”
For Choctaw County, the interior linemen are left tackle Chris Anderson, left guard Logan Stirewalt, center Brady Brooks, right guard Kanden Urtley and right tackle Josh Hall. All five are seniors.

STARKVILLE TRANSFER AIDS FCA
A transfer from Starkville High School is helping the French Camp boys basketball team and could help the baseball team in the spring.
Sophomore Macon Bentley drew praise from basketball coach Robert Leathers. He scored five points in a win over Starkville Christian and six in a victory over Hebron as the Panthers opened the season 2-0.
“He has stepped up and played big for us. He doesn't score a lot of points, but he play good defense.”
Bentley played on the Starkville baseball team in the spring, and Leathers expects him to be a welcome addition to the French Camp team.
