It was a rough week on the hardwoods for the Noxapater basketball teams as both teams were swept by Union and Sebastopol.
Noxapater will take the Christmas holidays off and return to play on Friday, Jan. 4 as they host Pisgah. Then on Tuesday, Jan. 8, they will open division play as they host Vardaman. On Friday, Jan. 11, Noxapater will travel to West Lowndes.
Sebastopol girls 34, Noxapater 13
The Lady Bobcats broke open the game in the second period to take a 21-point win on Thursday.
After each team scored five points in the first period, Sebastopol outscored Noxapater 17-4 in the second to lead 22-9 at the half. The Lady Bobcats used a 10-2 advantage in the third to extend the lead to 32-11 at the end of the third.
Morgan Hunter led Noxapater with five points.
Sebastopol boys 55, Noxapater 32
The Bobcats outscored the Tigers in every period as they took a 23-point win.
Sebastopol jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first and led 32-16 at the half. The Bobcats continued to extend the lead in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 11-6 in the third and 12-10 in the fourth.
K.D. Carter and Ryan Whitfield each had 11 points apiece.
Union girls 45,
Noxapater 10
The Lady Jackets raced out to a 41-4 lead in the first half and cruised to a 35-point win.
Union led 20-4 at the end of the first and then outscored Noxapater 21-0 in the second period to lead 41-4 at the half.
Morgan Hunter led Noxapater with three points.

he Yellowjackets used a steady supply of offense and a balanced scoring attack to take a 24-point win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
Union led 16-9 at the end of the first and then outscored Noxapater 23-14 in the second to lead 39-23 at the half. Noxapater outscored the Jackets 17-16 in the third before the Jackets finished off the game with a 15-6 run to take the win.
Jordan Wilson led the Tigers with 16 points while Chris Roberts had eight points. K.D. Carter and Ryan Whitfield each had seven points apiece.
