The Noxapater volleyball team finished its inaugural season with a pair of wins over Kemper County.
The Lady Tigers lost in three sets to Pisgah and Choctaw county while beating Kemper County twice.
“We had a great first year of volleyball,” coach Jody Duran said. “It has been a joy to watch the girls work, lean and grow in a sport that is totally new to them. We are really looking forward to next year.”
Against Choctaw County, the Lady Tigers lost 3-0, falling 25-10, 25-21 and 25-11. In the first set, Lexi Thomas had a dig and an ace while Nona Wilkes had a dig. In set two. Thomas had a dig while Jenna Wilkes had two blocks. In the third set, Tomas had a dig and Jenna Wilkes had an ace.
The Lady Tigers followed that up on Oct. 4 with a 3-0 win over Kemper County, winning 25-9, 25-12 and 25-16. In the firs set, Mary Grace Mills and Jenna Wilkes each had three aces apiece while Nona Wilkes had two spikes. In the second second Mills had a save and Nona Wilkes had a spike. In the third set, Andy Webb had two aces while Nona Wilkes had a spike and a dig and Lindsey Mills had a save.
The Lady Tigers played Kemper County again on Oct. 8 and also won in straight sets winning, 25-9, 25-7 and 25-7. In the first set, Lexi Thomas had a big game with six aces, three spikes and a save. Nona Wilkes had five spikes and save while Jenna Wilkes had four blocks, two aces, one dig and one spike. Katelyn Barnett had three digs while Andy Webb had three aces and Linsey Mills added two aces. Mary Grace Mills also added a block.
In the regular-season finale, the Lady Tigers lost in straight sets to Pisgah, falling 25-16, 25-8 and 25-7. In the first set, Lexi Thomas had six spikes, an ace and a dig. Lindsey Mills had four spikes and a save while Katelyn Barnett had five digs. Jenna Wilkes had two spikes while Addy Webb had a dig and an ace and Nona Wilkes added a block.
